Ontario PNP Points Calculator 2020

Ontario is not only Canada’s second largest province but is also decorated with beautiful lakes and landscapes, and boasts of a thriving economy that offers a great destination for immigration applicants looking to relocate permanently from India.

As multitudes of immigration applications are received every year, Ontario’s provincial government established an Ontario Provincial Nominee Program to ensure the selection of the most efficient and deserving candidates for its provincial nomination.

How to calculate your OINP points with OINP Points Calculator 2020?

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program – OINP has an “enhanced” stream that allows the province to search for skilled immigrants with required skills in the federal government’s express pool. This stream is the Human Capital Priorities Stream. Through this stream, express entry candidates can apply for provincial nomination under OINP.

To be eligible for the Ontario provincial nominee program (OINP)’ Human Capital Priorities Stream, candidates are first required to clear the 67 points system. Once they clear the 67 points system, they are able to create an express profile and are submitted into the express pool with the profiles of the other candidates.

The minimum requirement to be considered for OINP is 400 CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points. Following are the factors that can assist you in calculating your OINP points with the help of OINP points Calculator.

What is Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP)?

As a major hub of economic activity in Canada, Ontario’s provincial government runs OINP as its immigration program to select the best immigration applicants for settling permanently in Ontario and contributing towards its growth. Through this program, Ontario businesses can get a chance to hire skilled workers from across the globe. A category of the Ontario PNP program is run in sync with the federal government’s Express Entry system.

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program

The Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) allows foreign workers, international students and others with the right skills, experience and education to apply for a nomination for permanent residence in Ontario.
The program is:
Operated by the Ontario government in partnership with the federal government through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

Designed to help Ontario meet its labour market and economic development needs

Many professionals choose to move to Ontario because of its immigration-friendly policy and easy-to-attain permanent resident status. Keeping in line with the policy of the federal government, Ontario immigration authorities give priority to professionals with high skills in demand in the local job market.

Choose the best answer:

  • If you’ve been invited to apply, enter your age on the date you were invited.
    OR
  • If you plan to complete an Express Entry profile, enter your current age.

Enter the highest level of education for which you:

  • earned a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate or
  • had an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) if you did your study outside Canada. (ECAs must be from an approved agency, in the last five years)

Note: a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate must either have been earned at an accredited Canadian university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute in Canada. Distance learning counts for education points, but not for bonus points in your profile or application.

Note: to answer yes:

  • English or French as a Second Language must not have made up more than half your study
  • you must not have studied under an award that required you to return to your home country after graduation to apply your skills and knowledge
  • you must have studied at a school within Canada (foreign campuses don’t count)
  • you had to be enrolled full time for at least eight months, and have been physically present in Canada for at least eight months

5) Official languages: Canada's official languages are English and French.

You need to submit language test results that are less than two years old for all programs under Express Entry, even if English or French is your first language.

Enter your test scores:

If so, which language test did you take for your second official language?

Test results must be less than two years old.

Enter your test scores for:

6) Work Experience

It must have been paid and full-time (or an equal amount in part-time).

Note: In Canada, the National Occupational Classification (NOC) is the official list of all the jobs in the Canadian labour market. It describes each job according to skill type, group and level.

"Skilled work" in the NOC is:

  • managerial jobs (NOC Skill Level 0)
  • professional jobs (NOC Skill Type A)
  • technical jobs and skilled trades/manual work (NOC Skill Type B)

It must have been paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation (NOC skill type 0, A or B).

Note: A certificate of qualification lets people work in some skilled trades in Canada. Only the provinces, territories and a federal body can issue these certificates. To get one, a person must have them assess their training, trade experience and skills to and then pass a certification exam.

People usually have to go to the province or territory to be assessed. They may also need experience and training from an employer in Canada.

This isn’t the same as a nomination from a province or territory.

Additional Points

A valid job offer must be

  • full-time
  • in a skilled job listed as Skill Type 0, or Skill Level A or B in the 2011 National Occupational Classification
  • supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or exempt from needing one
  • for one year from the time you become a permanent resident

A job offer isn’t valid if your employer is:

  • an embassy, high commission or consulate in Canada or
  • on the list of ineligible employers.

Whether an offer is valid or not also depends on different factors, depending on your case.

You can use our online tool to find out if you don’t know.

Note: to answer yes, the brother or sister must be:

  • 18 years old or older
  • related to you or your partner by blood, marriage, common-law partnership or adoption
  • have a parent in common with you or your partner

A brother or sister is related to you by:

  • blood (biological)
  • adoption
  • marriage (step-brother or step-sister)

  • earned a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate; or
  • had an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA)? (ECAs must be from an approved agency, in the last five years)

To get the correct number of points, make sure you choose the answer that best reflects your case. For example:

If you have TWO Bachelor’s degrees, or one Bachelor’s AND a two year college diploma, choose – “Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years.”

It must have been paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in one or more NOC 0, A or B jobs.

Test results must be less than two years old.

How can I get selected under the Ontario PNP Program in 2020?

If you have the skills, educational qualifications and work experience as desired by Ontario immigration authorities, you can apply for nomination for Permanent Residence in Ontario.

For selection, you should fall under one of the following categories of Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) 2020 and meet all requirements.

What are major categories and streams of OINP?

There are three major categories with many sub-categories or streams under each.

CATEGORY 1: Human Capital Category:

This is the most popular category for Indian skilled workers.

  1. International Graduate stream: If you have a master’s degree or a PhD from a valid Ontario university, you become eligible for application under this stream.
  2. Ontario Express Entry: If you have an Express Entry profile and receive an NOI i.e. Notification of Interest inviting you to apply for OINP through IRCC’s online account, you become eligible for application under this stream if you meet the mandatory requirements.

Streams under Ontario Express Entry system:

  1. French-speaking Skilled Workers
  2. Human Capital Priorities Stream
  3. Skilled Trades Stream

CATEGORY 2: Ontario Job Offer Category

If you have a valid job offer for full time work from an Ontario based employer, you qualify to apply under this category.

  1. Foreign Workers Stream
  2. International Students Stream
  3. In-demand Skills Stream

CATEGORY 3: Business Category

This category is not very popular with Indian immigration  in general but some applicants may find it suitable.

  1. Corporate Stream
  2. Entrepreneur Stream

How to migrate to Ontario from India in 2020? HCP Stream is your best option!

For potential migrants from India, the most popular immigration stream is Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream.

This is a unique stream as it tracks your Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) in the federal Express Entry Pool of candidates under Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP) or Canada Experience Class (CEC). You may refer to Ontario PNP Points Calculator 2020 for finding your CRS score and eligibility.

The HCP stream identifies candidates in the Express Entry pool that:

  1. Have the desired education and skills for productive settlement in Ontario,
  2. meet the minimum CRS score i.e. 400 points in 2020 and
  3. meet all eligibility criteria for Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream.

It considers factors like your education, work experience details, spouse or common law partner details, skill transferability, Ontario job offer etc.

If I score 400 CRS on Ontario PNP Calculator, what do I do next?

On establishing clearance of CRS benchmark and a match with their current skilled labor eligibility requirements, Ontario authorities share with you a Notification of Interest (NOI) as an invitation to apply under the OINP for Canada PR Visa. You need to apply for PR Visa within 45 days of getting an NOI.

Note: NOI is no guarantee of your eligibility or selection; we suggest that you consult top Immigration consultants in Delhi for best advice on Ontario immigration.

Find out your eligibility under the most popular immigration program for moving to Ontario in 2020. Calculate your Comprehensive Ranking System score with the help of our Ontario PNP Points Calculator 2020 and prepare to move to Canada!

Awesome Team Support !

AP Immigration Pvt. Ltd. is the first sincere immigration company with meticulous and conversant team. For my case I have ran through all the big Immigration companies in the market but was not satisfied with the counselings itself, but when Mr. Manish gave me the counselling, he gave me so much information and that too in a layman’s language which helped me gain confidence in the company. Once I registered myself with them I was allotted a case manager who gave me all the information on prior hand about what would be the process and how will it go through. I am very happy that I went by the services provided and not by the big brand names. Thank you all for your help in getting my visa approval. Thank you so so much Manish
